EXACT Release: December 2024

Although December has been a shorter month, as the teams wound up for the festive season, this didn’t stop improvements to EXACT from being released. This month has seen updates to scanning functionality, the appointment book, patient information and more. 

Read on to learn about the details. 

Scanner Acquisition App 

Further updates to improve the Scanner Acquisition app were released to enhance its functionality, including; 

📄 If no devices have been previously selected, when the app is launched, a scanner will be auto-populated in the ‘selected scanner’ field if only one scanner is available. If there are multiple available, the drop-down will pop open for display. 
📄 If the scanner app does not launch, an error message will be displayed instead of EXACT automatically reverting to the original scanning functionality. 

Appointment book 

An update to quick booking services and a bug resolution were implemented to the appointment book; 

📆 Fixed an issue in the quick book services list where attempting to remove multiple services would only remove one. All services deselected from the edit window will be removed from the list when the ‘Save and Close’ button is clicked. 
🐜 Fixed an issue where it was possible for a user without the ‘Add, Edit or Delete Past Appointments’ permission to delete the original appointment when rebooking a linked F.T.A. appointment. 

Patient information 

Two issues with the patient records were resolved; 

🐜Fixed an issue where patient notes weren't being saved correctly for cancelled appointments or follow-ups. 
🐜 Expanded the patient data that’s included in both regular patient merges and patient portal merges. The additional information includes;

✅ Patient Types
✅ Dentist
✅ Hygienist
✅ Price Code
✅ Payor & Payor number 

In other areas

In addition to these, other updates included; 

🔓 Users can now access EXACT Hub without completing their contact details. 
🐜 Fixed an issue where ‘Do Not Charge’ COT colours do not change despite the checkbox being ticked. 
❗ A warning is now displayed if the [patient.planned.url] template merge field can’t be populated when creating an email or SMS for a patient via the toolbar buttons. 
🐜 The statement list now correctly shows patient names in the details column when a statement is generated. 

 

All the updates and content in this blog have been implemented in EXACT between V24.184 and V24.189.
