EXACT Release: April 2025

April saw a series of updates and fixes designed to improve the reliability of EXACT. From updates to the Short Notice List and Appointment Workflow reporting, to important changes to the Provider is Leaving functionality. 

In addition, changes to NHS processes across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland ensure you remain aligned with regulatory requirements, while other system-wide enhancements resolve key bugs and improve day-to-day performance. 

Appointment Book 

Updates have been applied to both the Short Notice List and Appointment reporting to help you manage your reception processes. 

🗓️ When the selected date for ‘Do not offer gaps earlier than’ setting is outside of the Short Notice Period; the patient will also be added to the ‘Do not contact’ list in relation to the Short Notice List.

🐜 Column headings in the Appointment Workflow Compliance report are now displayed across all printed pages.

Provider 

Further improvements were implemented to the recently added Provider is Leaving functionality. 

🐜 A bug causing warning messages not to display instances when expected in the Provider is Leaving functionality is now fixed.

⚙️ A warning prompt has been added to the Provider is Leaving functionality in instances where the provider has appointments in the future that are not being reassigned, and the provider is being made inactive to stop appointments being hidden from view on the appointment book.

⚙️ A new workflow has been implemented to encourage users to use the Provider is Leaving functionality when marking a provider as inactive outside of this functionality. 

NHS 

Changes have been made to NHS functionality in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. 

🦷 Inactive providers associated to a contract will not be added to a rolled over NHS contact and warning prompt will appear if attempting to roll over an NHS contract with only inactive providers associated to it. 

🦷 Northern Ireland NHS: The ‘H&C or CHI number missing’ warning prompt that appears when TC’ing a claim with this information missing for a patient has been made mandatory in alignment with NHS changes. 

Other Improvements and Bug Fixes

Updates to other features and functionality in EXACT include: 

🐜 The text used for Addition Fee per arch, in the payor scheduled is now correct. 

🐜 A bug with payor payment allocations overpayments allocating incorrectly has been resolved 

🐜 New patients created via Online Booking with now have the SMS Mobile ticked automatically when created with a mobile phone number. 

🐜 The limit payor fee rule now displays in its correct position. 

✅ Amended the text for the recall monthly view filter for clarity, new text reads ‘For one of these recall types’ from ‘Who are due for one of these recall types’. 

🐜 The Remote Support Launcher has been updated with improved country optimisation, ensuring the correct region is set during opening of the launcher. In addition, the launcher will no longer automatically connect to an agent if only one agent is available. 

🐜 Patient Lists now allows the ‘From date’ to be higher than the ‘To date’ and still return results when using the Birthday query. 

🐜 Voided treatment is no longer automatically moved to the Misc. Tab on the chart screen. 

🐜 A unique issue causing outgoing and incoming emails to duplicate has been resolved.
